The New Hampshire Business Committee for the Arts was formed to educate, motivate and recognize business support of and participation in the arts. Support is provided by a membership of more than 80 businesses. Through the programs it has developed and maintained, it has:
- Identified and placed more than 100 business people with expertise in finance, law, insurance, information systems, marketing and human resources to projects and boards of directors of more than 50 arts organizations.
- Established Lawyers for the Arts / New Hampshire which, in its eleven years of existence, has referred more than 100 artists and arts organizations to attorneys who provided hundreds of hours of legal assistance on a reduced or no fee basis. More than 300 attorneys are included as resources. Also conducted nine Continuing Legal Education credit-approved seminars on arts/related legal issues which were attended by 300 attorneys.
- Conducted four Leadership Arts Series with pre-selected participants from both business and the arts. Classes presented arts and business leaders and consultants who, as guest speakers and panelists, explored a variety of arts and business-related concerns. More than 100 people attended each annual lunch event honoring the Leadership Arts Series and keynote speaker.
- Now available on this site, produced a booklet, Guide to Non Profit Incorporation, which has been requested by and distributed to approximately 2,000 individuals and organizations.
- Promoted audience development to arts events resulting in thousands of tickets purchased by member company employees.
- Showcased 70 performing and visual artists, recognized more than 450 nominees and named 45 winners through the annual Business in the Arts awards.
