Festival New Hampshire Goes High Tech!

The New Hampshire Business Committee for the Arts announces it is working on the Technology is Our Trade exhibit,showcasing New Hampshire's high technology innovations.

New Hampshire is often recognized for its natural beauty, open country, "live free or die" license plates and the nation's first political primary.  But recently, we've been acknowledged as having the highest percentage of its workforce employees in IT jobs of any state in the country.  Technology is a growing, thriving and important component of our economy, and our lives - and New Hampshire technology also has a flavor of its own.

From June 7-11, New Hampshire culture will be on display at the Hopkinton fairgrounds when Celebrate New Hampshire Culture recreates the fabulous exhibits New Hampshire took to Washington, DC last summer as part of the Smithsonian Folklife Festival.  This event will attract thousands of people in addition to numerous students attending as part of organized school trips.

We plan to enhance this exhibit even further by creating a technology component featuring New Hampshire companies and their technological innovations.  Presently, these exhibits include:

    * An interactive video tour of ManagedOps.com new, mill-style corporate headquarters which marries the rich history of the area's mills and textile industry with a state-of-the-art facility.
    * Internet terminals featuring winners of nh.com's best of the web in New Hampshire web sites.
    * Robotics displays by FIRST.
    * An office of the future featuring NH-made wares and technology products.

Because the technology component will take advantage of the fundraising and production efforts already underway, and to assist in covering the tech exhibit expenses we are seeking sponsor and participation support.

Benefits to participation include but are not limited to the following:

    * Technology exhibit reception for employees and clients.
    * Area to conduct presentations for attendees
    * Display of your banner and name in marketing materials
    * Media coverage and opportunities for an individual profile.
    * Interaction with a student and family fair-going audience.
    * Some complimentary tickets for employees.
    * Opportunity to establish your place in the culture of the state and showcase New Hampshire in a positive way.

If you are interested in participating, please send a 500-word description of your technology, how it can be displayed or demonstrated, and how much space is required.  E-mail these descriptions to Joan Goshgarian at joan@nhbca.com no later than May 1st.  If you have any questions or want feedback on an idea, call Joan at 224-8300.
