Business in the Arts Awards Festivities May 23

For Immediate Release
April 21, 2000
Business in the Arts Awards Festivities May 23

Rave reviews are given to thirty-four New Hampshire businesses who have been nominated and will be honored on May 23 for the Business in the Arts Awards 2000. Sponsored by the New Hampshire Business Committee for the Arts, the sixteenth annual festive awards presentation will be held at the Center of New Hampshire - Holiday Inn in Manchester at 6:00 p.m..

The gala evening includes a reception, dinner and performances to honor the nominees and will conclude with the naming of the recipients of the Business in the Arts Awards.  Following a traditional performance by fiddler Rodney Miller and guitarist David Surette to recognize the upcoming Festival NH in June, a showcase of art and performances utilizing or primarily influenced by high technology will highlight New Hampshire's tradition of the future.  Performers include the Concord Community Music School's Musicians of Wall Street, science fiction writer James Patrick Kelly, and RoboDance.

The thirty-four businesses were nominated for their support of the arts through a combination of financial sponsorships, employee involvement, special projects and donations of products and services.  Winners in each of four categories will be recognized for their outstanding contributions and be presented with specially commissioned artwork commemorating the achievement.  Additionally, one individual will receive an award for leadership based on his or her commitment to promoting and establishing business partnerships with the arts.
