BUSINESS IN THE ARTS AWARDS GALA MAY 14
The 23 nd annual Business in the Arts Awards will be held May 14 at 6:00 p.m. at the Center of New Hampshire – Radisson Hotel in Manchester. Sponsored by the New Hampshire Business Committee for the Arts, the gala will honor the thirty New Hampshire businesses nominated for this year’s awards. The culmination of the evening will be the naming of the winners. The evening highlights a celebration of business support for the arts and entertains with a performance showcase of drama, movement and music and song.
Robert Shea of the Dana Center, St. Anselm College is the Master of Ceremonies for the festivities. The performers include the Dartmouth College Gospel Choir, New England College Theatre Department, University of New Hampshire Department of Theatre and Dance and a reading by Chester College of New England professor Robert Crawford.
More arts features include a cultural trivia quiz show with lucky contestants winning baskets filled with goodies from New Hampshire’s cultural institutions and a grand prize of two tickets from Southwest Air; ceramic pieces from the faculty and students of NH Institute of Art gracing the tables as centerpieces; and award prizes by artist Bill Haust of Plymouth State University.
Thirty businesses were nominated for their sponsorships, employee volunteerism, and donations of products and services in support of the arts. The winners in each of four categories will be announced during the evening. Additionally, one individual will receive an award for leadership based on his or her demonstrated efforts in promoting business leadership commitments to the arts.
